Katheryn LaiblePresident Synchronicity Planning & Communications
Katheryn Laible is a writer, a photographer, and handy in many ways. She is the President of Laible & Fitzsimmons, Inc.
Together with long-time associate, Trudy Fitzsimmons, she founded the Synchronicity Network Newsletter, which draws on decades at the fusion point of interests to serve and celebrate those who care about Art, Science and the Common Good on Long Island and beyond. She is also a Managing Partner of The Firefly Artists of Northport, with a Main Street gallery of local artists’ works.
Katheryn spent five years as Acting Director of Leadership Huntington, Long Island’s first-and-only Community Leadership Program. For nearly 10 years she was Assistant Director of Vision Long Island, the region’s premier Smart Growth organization. She has served as a consultant, program coordinator, and grant writer for many other organizations, notably the Nassau County Museum of Art and Nathan Hale VFW Post 1469. In 2012, Katheryn participated in a month-long Rotary Group Study Exchange throughout Minas Gerais, Brazil, which was a uniquely expansive, fully-immersive experience.
A primary career theme has been developing organizations that bring diverse interests together to better understand each other and the world, and to effect positive change. It is through this that she was first handed a camera and began being tasked with writing about people and the plans that they make. Grant writing, to her, became as much an exercise in strategic planning and public relations as it was fundraising. She discovered a deep passion for capturing people, places, and the spirit of projects and events. She loves to put great stories into writing, make meaningful connections, assist in forging plans, and otherwise help good folks do great things.
