Dr. Brian Kelly

Dr. Brian Kelly is a criminologist and security professional who teaches Security Systems and Law Enforcement Technology at Farmingdale State College.
Dr. Kelly has also worked in multiple capacities of law enforcement in New Jersey. He was a corrections officer and investigator in Newark and a police officer with the New Jersey Transit Police Department. Dr. Kelly is a licensed private detective; expert witness; certified fraud examiner, with security clearance in the utilization of various investigatory computer databases; and certified financial crimes investigator.
In 2017, Dr. Kelly introduced authentic police body cameras into the classroom as a teaching tool. He was the first academic in the U.S. to use body cameras this way.
