The Public Has Judged: 2018 Folio Award Winners

A seven-part, in-depth story taking viewers inside the fabled halls of the Nassau County Police Academy.

A podcast offering important health stories.

A watchdog report monitoring local sanitary districts.

Those were among the top-scoring stories in this year’s Folio Awards competition.

A powerhouse assortment of leaders from all walks of life came together to judge the 2018 Folio Awards, honoring the best in news and social media as determined by the ultimate critic: The public.

Noting the overall quality of entries was extremely high, PIX11 laid claim to the top-scoring spots in this year’s competition, followed closely by David North Media, CBS New York and Long Island Business News. WLIW scored a huge win in a social media for news outlets category.

The complete list of winners appears below. The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday, March 29, 11 am to 2 pm at The Garden City Hotel. The New York Times’ White House Correspondent and CNN Political Analyst Maggie Haberman is the featured speaker at the luncheon, which is the largest media event on the Long Island.
