South Nassau Communities Hospital Conference Center in Oceanside, N.Y. , from 7.30 a.m. to 12 noon. Dress code: shorts & flip flops.

The half-day program provides up-to-the-moment social media advice, tips and training for businesses and nonprofit organizations in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Expert speakers with a wide range of backgrounds provide for a well-rounded experience for boot camp attendees. All skill levels are invited to attend the event. Networking breaks, along with ‘therapy breaks’ (one-on-one time with a social media pro), ensure ample time to establish new relationships and get answers to pressing work-related dilemmas.

One of Long Island’s favorite summer events, FMC Summer Social Media Boot Camp is finalizing its speakers, and seeking sponsors and exhibitors to be part of the program. But tickets are already selling fast, so don’t hesitate to buy now.

This year’s boot camp will be held in a new location, at the state-of-the-art conference center at South Nassau Communities Hospital. The hospital is easily accessible via the LIRR and has plenty of parking. Access to the conference center is from the main entrance of the hospital.

About FMC Summer Social Media Boot Camp

The concept was simple: Let’s provide training, tips and advice for organizations using social media for work purposes. Let’s make the event a half-day on Friday in the summer, when many people work half-days. And let’s make the dress code shorts and flip flops, so people connect on the human-to-human level. Plus, we’re on Long Island, so we can be at the beach within 20 minutes. And that’s when wearing a suit just won’t do. \
