LI’s own MarissaAnn performs at FMC Folio Awards on April 24

From Long Island’s Connetquot High School to NBC’s The Voice to the Folio Awards stage, FMC is proud to welcome back MarissaAnn to perform at the biggest media event on Long Island on April 24.

The Fair Media Council’s Folio Awards attracts an influential audience of more than 600 media, business and community leaders from the New York metro area. Television and radio news personalities serve as award presenters in a ballroom filled with celebrities and local icons.

This will be the third time MarissaAnn performs at the FMC Folio Awards. “Recognizing young, local talent is vital,” said FMC CEO Jaci Clement. “The Folio Awards is a showcase for the best of Long Island, and it’s not only fitting, but exciting, to include MarissaAnn in the program.”

MarissaAnn is a multi talented singer/songwriter from Long Island, New York. Having survived a rare liver disease that resulted in a liver transplant from her dad at six months old, she truly believes that she can communicate strong messages of hope and healing through her music. Beginning with voice lessons at age 6, then various local gigs and school plays, through her most recent experience on NBC TV’s The Voice, MarissaAnn has been sharing her talents with the world. MarissaAnn is currently in the studio, writing and recording original songs with The Loft Sound Studio.

The Folio Awards program is adjudicated by community leaders, to provide feedback to the media on how well they are covering the local communities. Because the public is the ultimate judge of the media, earning a Folio is among the highest of honors.

The event, which begins at 11 a.m. at Crest Hollow Country Club, is sponsored by Briarcliffe College, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, North Shore-LIJ Health System and WeiserMazars LLP, among others. Tickets and tables are on sale now. Details may be found by clicking here or calling 516-224-1860, ext. 706. Email info@fairmediacouncil.org
