Why Enter the Folio awards?
Enter the Fair Media Council Folio Awards for Social Media where the best in social impact, storytelling, and innovation are recognized! Whether you’re a nonprofit, corporation, news outlet, or individual, showcase your creativity and strategic use of social media to build trust, drive change, and engage audiences. With categories celebrating everything from authentic storytelling to data-driven campaigns, leadership engagement, and influencer partnerships, the Folio Awards honor those who excel in leveraging digital platforms for meaningful social responsibility and community impact. This is the Gold Standard for the Modern Media Landscape.
Criteria and Rules for Social Media
Who Can Enter?
Anyone, anywhere, may enter the Folio Awards for Social Media, including businesses, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, associations, media and news outlets. Professionals and students are equally welcome to submit (simply check off the proper category on the submission form).
What Should Be Entered
A wide variety of categories are housed under our social media banner, from proper social media campaigns to events, podcasts and websites (and much more.) What we seek is work that does good — educate, enlighten or inspire. Campaigns that are purely promotional are not eligible. Categories change from year to year, so please review the list before you begin your submission. If you believe your work may be entered into more than one category, you are welcome to do that. Please note an entry fee applies to each category submission.
Who Judges?
Industry professionals, community leaders and social media users will judge entries using FMC’s specially designed scorecard, which emphasizes quality, storytelling, presentation, and engagement.
Entry Requirements
Campaigns that ran during part or all of the previous calendar year are eligible. Judges want to see quantitative results, so please have data to complete your entry form.
About the Social Impact Storytelling Award
This is the Fair Media Council Signature Award in Social Media, making it the highest honor in this category. The Social Impact Storytelling Award is designed to showcase the importance of quality, responsible storytelling as a catalyst for change. It is the only social media category to include a cash prize of $1,000, total.
The prize may be awarded to the organization, individual, or group of individuals that played key roles in creating this entry. The prize may be returned to the Fair Media Council if deemed appropriate.
Preparing to Enter
Be sure to have correct spelling of names and titles, proper name of campaign to be entered, and publication dates.
A brief synopsis of the strategy and goals behind each entry is also required, along with data to illustrate engagement and reach of your entry.
The information that you submit on your entry form will be used in published materials, should your entry win, so be sure to check your entry BEFORE you hit that send button. There will be no preview screen. All entries are final.
Entry Fees
Entry fees apply. If entering the same work in more than one category, a fee applies for each category. We use a tiered entry system to encourage early submissions. Entry fees are nonrefundable.
