No experience is necessary. Our scorecard judging method shows you how to dissect news stories to understand what to look for in quality, credible news. Our social media judging process focuses on how to gauge effective social media work.
Rising stars — under the age of 30 — are encouraged to apply as Junior Judges and gain the skills needed to navigate news today.
Donating your time will help us improve the media landscape for all.
Please note: Judges are welcome to enter their work in the Folio Awards, but will not be allowed to judge those particular categories.

Business and community leaders are invited to serve as Folio judges.
This program enables you, the news consumer, to provide critical feedback to the news media, with an eye toward keeping news relevant to the public. At the same time, the Folio Awards judging process works to create educated news consumers and provide judges with the skills necessary to successfully navigate today’s media landscape. Should you be chosen to judge, the information you provide below will be used on FMC’s website, in the Folio Awards program and in FMC social media channels to publicize your participation in this program.Â
