Speakers Wanted: The Fair Media Council seeks news reporters, editors, writers, producers, news directors, managing editors, social media specialists, media relations professionals, branding and corporate communication stars to participate in the largest conference in the country to bring media and community together for a day of open dialogue, relationship building and mutual understanding.

The Fair Media Council’s Connection Day conference will be held on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 from 8 am to 4 pm at Briarcliffe College, Bethpage, NY.  A variety of break-out sessions happen throughout the day, focusing on meeting the media, learning how to pitch the media, social media best practices, and corporate communication tips and advice.

The call for speakers is now open: Anyone interested in being a speaker should send topic idea, background and speaking experience information to by June 15, 2016. After the call for speakers has closed, FMC will respond to queries. Chosen speakers are expected to remain in attendance for the full-day conference; discounted tickets will be available for speakers. Prior speaking experience is necessary. The Fair Media Council’s Connection Day conference has been held annually for more than 30 years. It is an exclusive opportunity to meet key news media personalities and decision makers from the Long Island-New York City-Northern New Jersey metro area, as well as an important networking opportunity for businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Attendees of FMC Connection Day are businesses and nonprofit organizations that are seeking news coverage and working to raise their profiles. The day includes professional development training for all skill levels. Spokespeople, media relations managers, community relations and public relations professionals, branding and corporate communications staff should plan to attend the event. Speakers wanted to participate in the program should be experts in their fields.
