The Fair Media Council’s Folio Awards, honoring the best in news and social media, has a new entry deadline of midnight, Dec. 20, 2016 via FMC’s online entry system.
Any news outlet or freelancer may enter the news categories, but some or all of a news story must be Long Island specific. Social media categories are open to the news media, freelancers, businesses and nonprofits, and have no Long Island-focus requirements.
FMC is introducing the following news categories:
- Watchdog news
- Public Service news
- Public Policy news
- Animal Welfare news & features
- Disability news & features
- Immigration news & features
The social media categories have nearly doubled since their introduction more than five years ago. Now, the Folio Awards social media category includes:
- Public service
- Best promoter
- Pinterest Master
- Media Upstart
- Community Service
