New Membership Levels, Benefits Introduced

Bringing the news and news makers together is at the heart of what we do, to keep media responsive and responsible to the public it serves

To better serve the region, the Fair Media Council has introduced new membership levels and a host of new benefits. 

A new, Elite Circle level of membership offers year-round visibility and exclusivity, while our Legacy Club is open only to those who have been members of the Fair Media Council for 10 years or more.

“We want to recognize organizations that believe in our mission that the media needs to be held accountable for its work. FMC’s work is centered around responsible news coverage, media that is responsive to the community and respects the public. The organizations we work with know the quality of news is vital to the well-being of the community where they live and do business,” said Fair Media Council CEO & Executive Director Jaci Clement. “We want to recognize them for their support by giving them a visibility and presence no other organization can offer.”

Membership is 100 percent tax deductible, as Fair Media Council is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

The standard membership has been greatly enhanced, by offering a new host of benefits that appeal to organizations of all sizes.

“We’ve boosted opportunities for involvement with FMC by adding new benefits focusing on coaching and mentoring as well as the chance to be coached or mentored by an accomplished industry professional from all areas of communications and business,” noted Clement. “And, just as importantly, we’ve included special deals with local businesses that are exclusive to FMC members, and quite valuable.”

Any business or nonprofit is eligible to join the Fair Media Council. Fees are segmented by category and by number of employees, to best suit small, media and large scale organizations.

All membership levels include discounts to FMC events, which are designed to introduce organizations to the media from hyperlocal, local, regional and national media outlets. On-going networking and relationship building with both the media and other FMC members offers a variety of benefits, from internships and job placements to heightened public awareness of a brand or cause. It’s common for FMC members to land in the news directly from attending FMC events.
