Ladies’ Night at Molloy College
If you were wondering where all the women were Wednesday night, we know: More than 500 of them (OK, maybe three men managed to sneak into the room) sold out the Madison Theatre to hear Maria Shriver speak about her new book, being a mom, the fight for Alzheimer’s awareness, life as a Kennedy, and so much more.
Among those inside the packed house: The INN’s Cynthia Sucich, Sisters from the Order of St. Dominic and Morey Publishing’s Beverly Fortune.
Congrats to our friends at Molloy for their success. Nice to see such a turnout. Better, still, to hear a member of the custodial staff speak highly of Shriver: “You’re going to love her. The woman’s a sweetheart.”
Changing of the Guards…
Strictly statistically speaking, changes in local broadcasting were due. Watch for WABC-TV to name a new president and news director in place of Dave Davis and Camille Edwards, while over at Ch. 4, news director Susan Sullivan heads to network, vacating her current position.
40 Years, and Going Strong
Despite change in the air, the venerable Rich Lamb (pictured above, from long ago when phones had cords and typewriters made clickety-clack sounds) celebrates his 40th anniversary over at CBS Newsradio 880.
Memo to NRA: RTDNA Shoots Back
When the NRA declared “legacy media loves mass shootings,” Radio Television Digital News Association Executive Director Dan Shelley (you may have met Dan at FMC’s ‘The News Conference: Real & Powerful’ in December), shot back: See the ‘This is Journalism’ campaign here.
