New Primary Sources Speaker Series Begins July 21

FMC’s Primary Sources Speaker Series was created to address one issue: What every organization needs to know to build back better as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

By keeping this series virtual, FMC is able to bring together exceptional speakers regardless of geography to discuss topics built around major themes of interest to every organization, regardless of industry or size. Also worthy of note: As FMC has two distinct audiences — businesses and nonprofits, which may be members — and the news media, this series provides insight and advice for all and features thought leaders, influencers, and experts as speakers.

Here is the July and August schedule:

JULY SCHEDULE

TRUST & LEADERSHIP: On Wednesday, July 21 at 10 a.m. EST, live on Zoom, the series kicks off with Steve Rubel, Edelman’s Chief Media Ecologist, who will present the key findings from its Edelman Trust Barometer research on the state of trust and what it means for business, nonprofits, media and government. In particular, he will drill down what the crisis of misinformation and its connection to the pandemic mean for communicators and journalists.

CULTURE & TECHNOLOGY: On Tuesday, July 27 at 2 p.m. EST, watch the YouTube Premier of the FMC Fast Chat podcast, “Future-Proofing Your Organization.” The 30-minute chat between Vancouver-based Now of Work CEO and Founder Rocky Ozaki and FMC CEO and Executive Director Jaci Clement will offer a real-time look at how organizational culture and technology impact doing business today. This chat provides insight for the next event. 

MARKETING IN A DIGITAL-FIRST ENVIRONMENT: On Wednesday, July 28 at 10 a.m. EST, live on Zoom, Joan Smith, Managing Director, Protiviti Digital, will give a presentation on what “digital-first” means for organizations, in order to compete effectively in the post-pandemic era, and the essential elements that customers and clients will now expect and demand from brands.

AUGUST SCHEDULE

TECHNOLOGY & PERCEPTION: On Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 9:30 a.m EST., live on Zoom, Abigail Posner, Director of the BrandUnit, Google’s creative think tank for agencies and brands. will chat with FMC CEO Jaci Clement on technology, perception and humanizing the digital experience. 

VISUAL STORYTELLING: On Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. EST, live on Zoom, Dawn Murden, Vice President of Success at Shorthand, takes you inside visual storytelling, how it has changed, and what that means for brands and organizations. 

SEPTEMBER SCHEDULE TO BE ANNOUNCED

All-access tickets, $145, will provide individuals with access to all events and recordings. Tickets will also be available for individual events, at a rate of $35. As always, FMC member organizations may purchase tickets at the member discount price. For FMC members, the price of an All-Access Pass ticket is $99, and an individual event ticket will be $25.

Access to recordings of events will be made available to All-Access Pass holders. Tickets are final sale, nonrefundable and tax-deductible.
