ABOUT FMC FOLIO AWARDS

The Folio Awards bring FMC’s mission to life: The Folio Award-winning news and social media campaigns provide concrete examples of what the public wants and needs in its newsfeed, and the event provides a high-powered forum for showcasing the results to the news media and community together.

The Folio Awards’ judging process helps create a media-savvy public. Using an exclusive scorecard method, judges are taught how to break down news and information in a variety of categories to help them assess information and view it from a critical point of view. The lessons learned from the judging process are easily incorporated into daily news and information habits.

“This program happens only on Long Island. It’s part of how the Fair Media Council works inside the news ecosystem and finds new and innovative ways to improve news, create a media-savvy society and maintain strong communities,” said Jaci Clement, CEO & Executive Director of the Fair Media Council.

Major sponsors are Bethpage Federal Credit Union and Northwell Health.
