FMC Folio Awards Expands Social Media Categories for Businesses and Nonprofits

Fair Media Council is introducing a new wave of social media categories for the next FMC Folio Awards™. Businesses and nonprofit organizations and the news media are eligible to enter. Deadline for FMC Folio entries is Jan. 31, 2014.

“We’ve expanded FMC Folio Awards™ to recognize the incredible good done in recent years by way of social media, which has both a lasting and expansive impact on the way we interact,” said Jaci Clement, Executive Director of the Fair Media Council.

Some of these categories include: the Groundswell Award, honoring the best public awareness campaign; the Community Service Award, awarded to the best blog site or website devoted to issues of interest to a particular community; the TweetUp for A Cause Award, reserved for the best virtual campaign to bring the community together to support a cause; the Micro-Philanthropist Award, given to the best grassroots online fundraising campaign; and the Best Non-Profit for the organization that best used a social media campaign to further its mission.

The FMC Folio Awards™ Ceremony and Luncheon will be held on April 25, 2014 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, N.Y. Among the 600 attendees from the New York metro area are some of the most admired and celebrated figures in their fields, in all areas of business, news, and media. FMC Folio Awards are judged by the public, making it among the highest of honors an organization may receive.
